The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings are divided by number of employees. Large agencies are those organizations with more than 2,000 full-time, permanent employees. Small agencies are those with at least 100, but fewer than 2,000 full-time, permanent employees. For the first time, we calculated scores for very small agencies with less than 100 full-time permanent employees. All agencies had at least 30 respondents or a response rate greater than 50 percent. These agencies range in size from the Committee for Purchase from People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled, which has only 25 employees to the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board, which has 84 employees.
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency topped the list with a Best Places to Work index score of 92.7. USTDA has 37 full-time permanent employees, and 26 employees responded to the survey. USTDA's mission is to "help companies create U.S. jobs through the export of U.S. goods and services for priority development projects in emerging economies."
